“Technical Development Day, National Day”

The first technology developer’s day ceremony was held at the National Assembly on the 24th. At a ceremony held at the National Assembly Library’s auditorium later in the day hosted by independent lawmaker Yang Hyang-ja and the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association, participants stressed that Technology Developer’s Day should be established as a national holiday.

‘Technology that changes the world, K-Tech that opens the future. The ceremony, which was held under the slogan “Korea is made by technology developers,” was attended by Science and ICT Minister Lee Jong-ho and LS Electric Chairman Koo Ja-kyun.

In a congratulatory speech, Lee Yong-sik, the head writer of Munhwa Ilbo, said, “All technology developers who are silently working hard at the research site are Edison, the inventor of the 21st century. They are people who make products based on great theories and benefit not only the Korean economy but also mankind.”

Technology Developer’s Day was established to promote the achievements of technology developers who contributed to the development of the Korean economy and to create a social atmosphere in which technology developers are less satisfied with their jobs, less self-esteem, and lack social courtesy.

Five people, including Gil Jin-soo, head of LS Cable & System, and Lee Sang-won, head of LG Innotek, were awarded commendations from the Minister of Science and ICT. Fifteen people, including Choi Sang-hoon, managing director of LG Energy Solutions, who is considered to have contributed to the development of new technologies in industrial sites, received the “Korea Engineer Award.” Nine people, including Choi Joo-tae, head of Hyundai Steel’s R&D division, received the “Technology Management Award.”
